Science for Democracy supports the Scientific and Academic Marathon promoted by the Università del Piemonte Orientale and its Research Center CRIMEDIM. It is an online event to save the life of Dr. Ahmadreza Djalali.
A 24-hour non stop marathon of scientists, researchers and academics streamed online will start on Wednesday, December 9th, at 3 p.m. CET.
As you may know, Dr. Djalali is a Swedish-Iranian scientist sentenced to death in Iran for “corruption on earth”, who may face execution in the next few days. Dr. Djalali was arrested in Iran in April 2016 and later convicted of espionage, with no evidence.
The marathon envisions short speeches (5-10 minutes) from different scientists with no boundaries in terms of disciplines, topics and languages addressing current scientific breakthroughs and challenges. We will all share the stage one after the other to show the world that our voices, together, are more powerful than injustice.

We also urge you to share this action alert to your contacts.
Thank you!
